A Day at Sagebrook
primary years
Where Curiosity, Growth, and Joy Flourish

Each day at Sagebrook is a blend of exploration, creativity and learning – designed to spark deep thinking, compassion and confidence in every child. Grounded in the IB Philosophy and enriched through experiential learning, our approach nurtures potential and prepares children to make a meaningful impact.

A Nurturing Start
A Nurturing Start

Our day begins with a warm welcome to an inviting classroom where children are encouraged to share ideas and connect with peers. Teachers foster a sense of belonging and set the tone for a day filled with collaboration and discovery. A variety of open-ended materials provide opportunities for independent and collaborative discovery.

Inquiry in Action
Inquiry in Action

Learning is led by curiosity. Through real-world themes like “How We Express Ourselves” and “Sharing the Planet,” students explore big ideas through hands-on projects, discussions, and experiments in an inquiry-based approach.

Example:
In “Sharing the Planet,” children explore sustainability by planting seeds in the sensory garden. This hands-on experience sparks scientific inquiry into how and why plants grow, while nurturing environmental awareness through food sourcing and preparation.

Creative Expression
Creative Expression

Through art, music, movement and drama, students develop their creative voices while building confidence and cultural awareness. Activities like creating self-portraits or participating in group performances help them express themselves and appreciate diverse perspectives.

Play with Purpose
Play with Purpose

Play, both indoors and outside, is central to learning at Sagebrook. Our outdoor play areas and indoor activity zones help children build motor skills and resilience. From yoga and nature walks to unstructured exploration, we balance energy and mindfulness throughout the day.

Global Perspectives, Personal Roots
Global Perspectives, Personal Roots

Children first develop a sense of self and community, and then gradually engage with global ideas and multicultural learning. Group activities help children build empathy, communication and leadership skills in ways that feel natural and joyful.

The Whole Child, Every Day
The Whole Child, Every Day

We believe physical and emotional well-being are just as important as academic excellence. Every interaction and activity is designed to nurture the holistic development of each child, equipping students to not only succeed, but to thrive in the classroom and beyond.
